I'm trying, in fact I've written some entries but I couldn't pull it off.
Monday I intend to have a great article on Step Families! I also intend to blog today of over the weekend.
It's hard for me, a blog is a journal and I can't help but feel 'who really cares?', but I believe people do and so I will try to bust out of my self consciousness in this matter.

The good news is that while our basement was a bit scary at the purchase of our house we were able to gut it. More good news is that the sheet rock went in yesterday and the workers stayed late to get it all installed (which will make the work be completed sooner).
The bad news is that when we came down stairs last night we smelled gas at around 9PM. We surrendered to the fact that we needed to call the gas company and we concluded that one of the new pieces of sheet rock has a hole in the gas line behind it.
Good news, the gas was turned off at the source. More good news we had a dual system put in for the upstairs which is electric, and more good news it's not like we are having a blizzard outside, the temperatures are moderate.

It's been the most wonderful time of my life, in a since- God has lavished me beyond anything I could imagine. I have been awestruck by His mercy on me and His limitless love. I have had faith it was there but for the last several months I have seen what it is I have had faith in for so long.
In spite of the blessings it has been emotionally, physically and in every other way draining. I am on the tail end of it and I love where I have landed.
I'm dying to write but to take time to write when there is so much to do seems impossible. I realized how terrible I am at pacing myself. I came from a long line of get it done types and they lived a long time time. If you are into Physical Therapy you know of my great aunt Florance Kendall (you can google her if not). Her funeral was several years ago and I remember one comment was "she switch from a PC to a Mac in her 90's. We (Peterson is where it all comes from- in Minnesota) can go and go and go but some how I feel like I hit my limit.

I’m on the downward climb of one of the hardest things I have ever done; move! For thirteen years we lived at our former house and called it home. We had babies there, our kids learned to ride their bikes and it was where our Christmas tree and pumpkins created memories as the seasons passed. We planted sunflowers every spring and my neighbor grew me Blue Bonnets (from my native Texas) that I planted in my ‘grow-anything-under-the sun spot’ by the front door.
This past Saturday two moving trucks came and piece by piece stacked all the earthly treasure we have into some moving vans and drove it all to our new abode.
Oh I love my new house and in no time I’ll have Christmas trees and pumpkins, sunflowers and I still have one child who has yet to learn to ride a bike. The house is perfect for our family, it feels like letting out a loop or two in a tight belt. It is spacious and not only that it is unbelievably close to everything I do in my life (besides my church). Yesterday a friend called and offered to take my sophomore to school every day; that’s a far cry from living where there were slim pickings for carpooling half an hour away.

In reflecting on the Country Music Awards 2009 in Nashville I am so taken with the poise, grace and talent exhibited by the humble star Taylor Swift. Her unbelievable gift is not what struck me, but her heart and absolute humility left a lasting impression. I think my 14 year old son has excellent taste and I praise God for His hand on this young woman who has been chosen for such a time as this to be a role model for a generation of girls.
Another stick-out star in the humble category was Darius Rucker. He left the stage so fired up with the recognition of his achievement and humbly said “Thank you for accepting me.” What a risk he took crossing over from rock and paving the way as a leader in this generation of racial diversity in Country Music. I know Charlie Pride was before him, but he was before me and my generation as well, the road needed to repaved.
God was mentioned here and there but Lady Antebellum gave Him the full credit off the bat as did Hall of Fame inductee Barbara Mandrell. In fact the lack of mention of God from known Christians like Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood made the event a little less spectacular than I get from a Christian concert, where prayer and outward-upward praise to God Almighty is the focus and lasting impression that is left from the talent He provided. I know this was aired on national TV but I hope the country music industry does not begin to morph into to the world.
A second thought about having Leann Rimes follow Taylor Swift might have been a better call. Poor Leann her sin is all over the tabloids and it is just a bit hard to cheer for someone who is seemingly unashamedly making poor choices. Her beauty and purity have been scathed by her infidelity and for me it is yet another Christian in the public eye who has put flesh over God. We all do it and I am thankful my sin isn’t on the cover of magazines, but skipping out this year might have been a better call by the Organization.
