Good News/ Bad News

Posted by: charlotte

The good news is that while our basement was a bit scary at the purchase of our house we were able to gut it.  More good news is that the sheet rock went in yesterday and the workers stayed late to get it all installed (which will make the work be completed sooner).

The bad news is that when we came down stairs last night we smelled gas at around 9PM.  We surrendered to the fact that we needed to call the gas company and we concluded that one of the new pieces of sheet rock has a hole in the gas line behind it.

Good news, the gas was turned off at the source.  More good news we had a dual system put in for the upstairs which is electric, and more good news it's not like we are having a blizzard outside, the temperatures are moderate.

More good news, I have barely filled up my gas tank this week. I went from driving my life away to barely driving.  My high school son, who literally is why we had to relocate- between his school and social life- I couldn't take it, has been picked up and dropped off everyday since we've been here.  I'm close to his school but it doesn't matter because we are close to his friends.

I feel like someone has taken a fifty pound weight off my back, with the relocation.  Additionally while there are boxes still to be unpacked and pictures to be hung I love my new house.  It is just a bit bigger than the last one and there is plenty of room for the six of us.  I love my kitchen, I loved my old kitchen but I love this one more, as far as functioning for me.  My bathroom is the be all end all and so is my closet.  Talk about glutton, whoever designed it was way more extravagant than I am, but man do I appreciate their style.

I was so resistant to moving.  I was comfortable (or so I thought) where I was, but I walked in faith and God provided more than I could ask or imagine.
